It’s finally here! This quarter, the Undergraduate Business Society will be hosting a Stock Market Portfolio Challenge, with a great prize on the line. The challenge is designed to give students the opportunity to learn more about investing and how the stock market works. Each player will be given $100,000 (virtual money) to invest, and the player with the most money in his or her portfolio at end will be awarded a scholarship from Kaplan Test Prep for a grad school Test Prep Course (Over $1000 value). Throughout the challenge we will have industry professionals coming in to give market updates, and will be sending out emails recapping market activity each week. No prior investing experience is required, and investors of all levels are welcome to participate. To get started: 1) Add your name and email to the form below. 2) Attend our kickoff event on Thursday, April 19th at 6pm in Broad 2100A where we will go into more detail about rules and guidelines for the challenge, as well as how this event can benefit you and help you learn more about investing.

To give you some background, each year TOMS Inc. holds an international event called One Day Without Shoes (ODWS) to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. This year the event will be held on Tuesday, April 10, and the LA recruiting team is partnering with TOMS to help organize an event at UCLA to draw attention to this worthwhile cause.
